Pianist and organist, Maxime Moyaerts is a rising figure in the Belgian jazz scene.

​Born in Dinant in 1988, Maxime Moyaerts started learning piano at the age of seven. He was always attracted by jazz, but he studied Classical piano first.

His passion for jazz will lead him to fully devote himself to it and in 2010 he starts studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Eric Legnini. 
For 5 years Maxime Moyaerts will develop his own style which often recalls his  heroes: Oscar Peterson, Wynton Kelly and Art Tatum. 
He graduated in 2016 with Great Distinction. 

 

Maxime has his own projects such as Maxime Moyaerts Trio in which he clearly shows his skills as a talented musician but also as a great composer.

As co-leader, we can hear him in Four of a Kind and BAM! Trio. Both groups enjoyed a residency at the Sounds Jazz Club for several years and won many awards such as the XL Jazz Contest.

By being an active figure on the Belgian jazz scene, Maxime Moyaerts quickly got noticed by some well renowned musicians. Because of his versatility and his great knowledge of the jazz tradition, he became a very in demand sideman both on piano and Hammond Organ.
